The Secret to Effortless Change and How to Handle Despair
A happy secret about effortless change…
When I was 13, I really wanted to be able to do a one-armed cartwheel.
I tried and tried for about 2 weeks but my body just wouldn’t do it.
Finally I gave up and forgot about it.
Six months later, on a beautiful spring Saturday morning, I just felt incredibly happy to be alive and in that joy, I effortlessly did it and had no trouble doing it after that.
Our subconscious can do a lot of the work for us, just as in fairy tales, the elves and the fairies solve the heroine’s seemingly hopeless problems.
Sometimes if we have a difficulty, it helps to write a letter to the Universe saying that within some time frame, (Hint: Give the Universe enough time to maneuver...) we want some specified change in our lives. Then burn it and just live. (I simply forgot about it.)
The Universe (including your subconscious) will conspire to help you.
(Remember to say thanks…)
We humans have enormous capacities inside us which we can learn to relax into.
***Remember any breakthrough will be followed by darkness and despair as the ego tries to stop change. Here are some thoughts to help you.***
Despair comes from the head.
If you listen, your heart will be telling you:
"It is okay.
You are learning an important lesson.
Your head is just being too narrow,
Too blinded by what it thinks, is good and bad.
You need to make more room for being human.
We are not machines.
You are part of Mother Nature and All That Is.
It feels dark but you are finding the light.
Just keep breathing.
It takes time but
Things will change.
You are okay.
When the new dawn comes,
You will be a wiser and more compassionate person,
Grateful for your transformation."
Always, the wisdom of our heart is available to us.
Learning to listen really helps.
Our culture doesn’t really teach this kind of listening…
That is part of why it can be so tough sometimes…
